Ishime-Nuri Kanshitsu can be categorized as a part of family members of Iro-urushi Lit. colored lacquer products.. Iro-Urushi is a colored Urushi with pigments or fine kanshitsu-fun. It is also used in saishitsu technique, to make traditional lacquerware products.

Ishime-Nuri • 石目塗 - Also ishime kanshitsu 石目乾漆 or simply ishime. Is a traditional form of Japanese lacquer techniques Not to be confused with the Hollow kanshitsu technique. Ishime Kanshitsu is a textured lacquer technique that uses coarse kanshitsu-fun to create a stone-like texture.

URUSHI CUSTOMIZATION: ISHIME-NURI TECHNIQUE

Ishime-Nuri • 石目塗 is a lacquer technique in which the surface of lacquer becomes uneven like a stone skin.

These fine stones are made by applying "charcoal powder" or "dry lacquer powder" (kanshittsu-fun) on top of Coloured Urushi and then applying another layer of Urushi on top of it to polish it.

In addition, since lacquer has the property of hardening by absorbing moisture in the air, it takes several days to several weeks to dry, so it takes several months to complete the lacquer product.

For this product, We customize Standard Catalog Fountain pen from Pilot, Sailor, & Platinum by converting the polish resin body or polish ebonite into Stone-like coated with lacquer to be pretreated, and then the undercoat lacquer is applied on top of it, and then the dry lacquer powder created in the same color as the colored lacquer is sown, and the finish lacquer is applied to the body for protection.
